Welcome to Batuque Axé! Batuque (music & dance troupe) Axé (peaceful, life force energy) is an internationally acclaimed 9 piece Brazilian Music Band, featuring driving rhythms, beautiful melodies and captivating performances offering show goers a glimpse into the rich cultural world of Brazil
The band explores many musical traditions from the Northeast of Brazil including Samba, Samba Reggae, Forró, Maracatu and the captivating art form of Capoeira. Many of the songs are accompanied by beautiful and talented dancers in authentic, colorful, costumes made in Brazil. Batuque Axé has lit up Festival audiences around the world and shared the stage with the likes of Femi Kuti, Mos Def and Ozomatli.
